NQTS have been commercially grading seed for over 25 years and has developed extensive experience in all aspects of grading seed and grain

The business has recently undertaken the expansion of their cleaning facilities and has commissioned a new state of the art grading plant which will increase capacity nine fold. It will also be to handle large volumes of grain.

It is expected that the plant will be commissioned late August 2008. It will also be to handle large volumes of grain.

Shed & Cold Storage

North Queensland Tropical Seed has specialised Storage facilities including a seed cold room which are AQIS registered, with the aim to maximise quality prior to dispatch. It is essential that seed is stored in a cool vermin proof facility. Recently a 250t cool room has been built to meet extra storage demands.

Growers can order their seed early in the season from their bean seed supplier and North Queensland Tropical Seeds will store the seed until it is needed for planting, this ensures that the industry gets the best possible planting seed at the time required.

NQTS owns and operates two combine harvesters, a Case International rotary machine and a Class conventional machine. This offers the correct type of equipment available to ensure seed quality is maintained at harvesting.

Seed Testing

NQTS marketing manager has seed testing accreditation and is skilled and qualified to draw tests for the domestic and international standards. These samples are then send to accredited laboratories for a number of results mainly purity and germination of each seed line.

North Queensland Tropical Seeds markets their own crops as well as product produced from a large number of growers on the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland who grow seed to NQTS requirements.
